2 pounds
beef (ground, 90% lean)
onion (medium, chopped)
green pepper (medium, chopped)
3 tablespoons
garlic powder
4 tablespoons
chili powder
2 teaspoons
black pepper
2 teaspoons
cumin (ground)
2 teaspoons
oregano (dried)
8 ounces
kidney beans (low sodium, canned, rinsed, drained)
10 ounces
chili sauce (low sodium)
14 ounces
beef broth (low sodium)
jalapeno peppers (fresh, chopped)



  • Place beef in large skillet
  • Brown beef and break into crumbles
  • Drain and add chopped onions and peppers to skillet
  • Saute till onions and peppers are tender
  • Mix in chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, black pepper, and oregano with 2/3 cup water
  • Continue cooking on medium heat
  • Add in the remaining ingredients and turn the heat down to low
  • Cover and let simmer for around 30 minutes
