This Kraut Dog has a delightful sweet tang. This recipe would have 1149 mg sodium per serving without demineralizing! Taking the extra steps to demineralize the hot dogs and sauerkraut is well worth it and allows you to have an option you may not have thought you could have before!
- Add sauerkraut, pickle relish, vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, and caraway seeds to large sauce pan
- Mix together and heat on medium-low
- Add in hot dogs
- Cover and turn heat to low
- Continue cooking for 10-15 minutes
Refrigerate any sauerkraut and hot dogs not eaten and use within 24 hours. Demineralized food spoil faster!
