Jeera Rice
This tasty Indian rice dish fits easily into the renal diet and pairs nicely with Chicken Gravy. Add a piece of Naan, some Raitha, and a hardboiled egg to complete the meal. Naan is an Indian flat bread. Raitha is an Indian side dish.

cinnamon sticks 3⁄4 cups
onion (chopped) 2 tablespoons
ground cumin 1 clove
garlic (thinly sliced) 1⁄2
ginger (thinly sliced) 1⁄2 cup
peas (frozen) 1 cup

Instructions
- Pour rice in a bowl and cover with water
- Let sit for 30 minutes while making the rest of the dish
- Add olive oil to pan and turn on low heat
- Add cinnamon stick, onion, cumin powder, garlic, peas, and ginger to pan
- Cook until onions are translucent
- Drain the water off the rice and add 2 cups of fresh water
- Pour the water and rice in with the mixture cooking on the stove
- Cover and simmer till water is all absorbed stirring rice every few minutes
