Love chips and salsa, but not sure how it can fit into the renal diet? Try this recipe! This is a renal friendly version that makes it easier to fit into your diet.

Chips & Salsa


Serving size: 8 chips, 1/2 cup salsa
Change Servings:


1 1⁄2 cup
tomatoes (fresh, diced)
3⁄4 cups
green pepper (fresh, diced)
1 cup
cauliflower (frozen, boiled, drained, small pieces)
3⁄4 cups
onion (fresh, diced)
1⁄4 cup
cilantro (raw, chopped)
2 cloves
garlic (minced)
2 tablespoons
lime juice
1 teaspoon
1⁄8 teaspoon
black pepper
1⁄8 teaspoon
1⁄8 teaspoon
1 package
corn tortilla chips (unsalted)
jalapeno peppers (optional, for added heat)



  • Place tomatoes, green peppers, cauliflower,  and onion in a food chopper to dice everything fine.
  • Put 1 cup of that mixture, the cilantro, garlic, lime juice, black pepper, salt, and sugar into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Hand mix the juice back into the mixture.
